July 2nd, 2012 has brought a very important topic to the forefront for Lewisville's Service Industry - Lewisville's New Smoking Ban Ordinance. We thought it would be a good topic to discuss for Thirsty Thursday - Service Industry Night.

The Lewisville City Council voted 3-2 in support for an ordinance banning all smoking inside Lewisville bars, restaurants, and bowling alleys starting October 1st, 2012. Daddy-O's Pub wants to open up an online conversation about this new ordinance with our patrons since it affects all of us.

It's Thirsty Thursday! And, It's Service Industry Night! In observance of S.I.N., we'll have Drink Specials and Food Specials. DJ CLO will be in the house spinning your favorite tunes. Plus, we're going to replace our bartenders with an all-robot staff. Just kidding! But, a trend is starting in China that might just make it here to the United States.  We've discussed The Kegbot, but in China, a restaurant is making history by replacing it's staff with robots!

In Harbin, China, the Haohai Robot Restaurant is a fully-staffed restaurant by robots! When you visit this restaurant, you will notice that there are 18 types of robots that will greet, cook, serve, and entertain you.  Yes, we said "entertain".  This little robot will croon to you as you are eating your meal.

Bars have been the fabric of American Culture, dating back to the Colonial Days of our country.  Without them, our political landscape would be very different. The American Revolution, Whiskey Rebellion, and Stonewall riots all spawned from bars.

The Staff, Management, and Ownership of Daddy-O's Pub is saddened to hear of the passing of Coach Joe Avezzano today in Italy. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, his friends, his many fans, and the staff of Hat Tricks Sports Bar.

Today, we would like to remember Coach Joe for his accomplishments in his professional football career.

If you love Jägermeister, you'll love Daddy-O's Pub in Lewisville. So for today's posting, we're going to give you some information about Jäger.

Have you ever thought what in the heck does Jägermeister mean in German? What it means with literal translation is "hunt-master". Another, possible translation might be "gamekeeper".  Hence the reason for its logo, which shows the head of a stag with a glowing Christian cross between its antlers. Its logo is a reference to the stories of Saint Hubertus and Saint Eustace, both patron saints of hunters!

Maker's Mark 46 is a Monthly Drink Special for March at Daddy-O's Pub in Lewisville. Maker's Mark has a fine tradition of making smooth tasting Bourbons. Maker's Mark 46 for $6.50 is not something you want to miss out on.  Before the month ends, you really should come out and try a shot or two of Maker's Mark 46!

Ah the joy's of how Maker's Mark 46 is made.... First, the original Makers Mark is removed from it's barrel. Then, Ten French Oak Staves are affixed to the inside of the existing barrel. These staves are slowly seasoned and cooked in order to caramelize the sugars in the wood. This process helps provide Maker’s 46 with its distinct taste.

The Month of March is turning out to be a busy one for Daddy-O's Pub! All this week has been the beginning of NCAA March Madness!  Saturday, We're going to have One of the Best St. Patrick's Parties in Town.  Today, Daddy-O's Pub is announcing some new drink additions to our bar!  Make sure you come out this week and try some of our new offerings.

Daddy-O's Pub is proud to serve The Original - Twisted Tea - Hard Iced Tea for $3 per bottle.  We'll be serving 3 thirst quenching flavors of Twisted Tea: The Original, Half and Half, and Raspberry!  Twisted Tea was introduced by the Boston Beer Company in 2001.  If you are not familiar with the Boston Beer Company, they are the makers of Sam Adams!

2) It Requires One to Be Nice at All Times - Even if they are having a horrible day, a bartender has to "set the mood" at the bar.  A happy patron is a good tipping patron.
