Watusi is an original "World Beat Reggae" band. Featuring the musical stylings of Peter Tosh (founding member of The Wailers) with a unique blend of roots and dance hall Reggae. The band was formed in 1983 with players from around the world and based in Dallas,Texas, USA. Watusi is a Texas musical legend, respected and played worldwide, winners of numerous Reggae and World Music Awards including 2011, 2010 and 2009 Texas Music Awards for Reggae and nominated for the Roots Music Association "Reggae Artist of the Year" 2009. 2012 celebrates 29 years of Watusi and the release of their 5th CD, "Cool Runner" on World Beatnik Records. Their music has gained airplay worldwide in 106 countries, reaching new fans around the globe.
