To Start, it is debatable whether Beer was made by mistake by our pre-historic forefathers in the beginning of time by accidentally fermenting grain and water. All we can say is...The first recordings for Beer, that we have record of, are an ~4300 BC Babylonian clay tablet with ancient brew master ingredients for Beer and "The Hymn to Ninkasi" by the Sumerians, that helped them remember the ingredients for Beer. The Babylonians produced Beer in mass quantities with around 20 varieties. Wouldn't you like to have had a taste tour of their Brews? Beer was stronger back then and was served in large clay pots! The Egyptians sold beer commercially: for royalty, medical purposes and as burial provisions on their journey to the hereafter. Hey, you can borrow these "purposes" from the Egyptians as an excuse to drink more cold ones!

Meanwhile, Europeans didn't make beer until ~3400 BC and they only produced Beer on a domestic scale. As time passes, eventually our favorite sudsy drink spread to other parts of the world Africa, China, Japan, Russia, and yes...to the Americas. It was sometime after 1492, when Christopher Columbus found Indians making Beer in the Americas. In 1680, William Penn opened and operated the first commercial brewery in "The Colonies" in North America which would eventually become the United States. Our guess is that it would be a good topic of bar debate, whether William Penn or Samuel Adams was the First United States Brew Master since there is record that Sammy took over the family business around the mid-1700. Finally, in the Mid-19th century, around 1850, German immigrants came to the U.S. and spawned the breweries that we are all familiar with today: Anheuser-Busch, Miller, Coors, Stroh, Schlitz, and Pabst. These breweries have been making Good Beer for us to enjoy for over a Century or More! So the next time you order a brewsky and a juicy burger, you will have some knowledge about our sudsy friend.
